English version A win at home It looked like his home weekend was going to be unlucky, but in the end Marco Frezza got his biggest satisfaction: a win. The third of the year, but even more important because obtained on the home track in Monza. The Italian weekend, for Marco and his new team mate Niki Cadei, at the wheel of the Ferrari 430 GT3 of the Kessel Racing team, was anyway a difficult weekend, full of inconveniences. “The Saturday race began very well: I started on third position and mantained the podium consistently during my stint,” Marco explains. “Then, when I was preparing to come back to the pits to give the car to my team mate, a failure came, which ended our race.” It was the alternator belt which broke: a failure even more unlucky because it happens very rarely. For Frezza, moreover, this was the third retirement in a row after the two fires in Brands Hatch: not the best situation for the championship. But, like champions often do, in the most difficult moment Marco found the strength to recover and obtain the most important result, taking the highest step of the podium in race 2. “My team-mate Cadei started on second position and defended it throughout his stint,” he tells, “then at the pit stop we gained by having no time handicap unlike our direct opponents and this enabled me to take the lead of the race when I came back on track. From then on, our rivals could do nothing.” After the Monza weekend, the GTS championship standings see Marco still very close to the top: with 66 points, he is ten points behind the leader Jean Philippe Dayraut (76) and two behind his Kessel Racing team-mates Livio-Bontempelli (68). This when there is just one weekend to the end of the season, scheduled in Barcelona on the 29th-31st October. “Now we go to Spain with the only goal of battling for the championship and aware we can do it,” Frezza ends. “We hope, after three retirements in a row, we are done with bad luck...”

Seguono altre stagioni entusiasmanti, trascorse sui tracciati più importanti e prestigiosi del Mondo. Marco mostra ad ogni occasione il suo talento cristallino, conquistando importanti successi sempre con la Ferrari, ed entusiasmando gli appassionati con il suo stile spettacolare, ma sempre preciso e redditizio. Nel 2014 gareggia ancora una volta con Kessel Racing con la Ferrari 458 GT3 nella Blancpain Endurance Series ed alla "12 Ore di Abu-Dhabi". |
